How To Flash (Unbrick) your MediaTek device by installing Stock ROM through SP Flash Tool

This Tutorial is to guide you how to Install Official Stock Rom in any Mediatek Android Device OR How to get your Bricked phone back to normal working condition. Sometimes due to installation of custom rom that are not meant for your device your phone you often end up bricking your device i.e Your phone doesn't starts and even charge which ultimately is a brick or Boot Loop in which it keeps restarting but you can get back to normal easily by restoring your data for flashing rom through CWM but sometimes you can't even goto recovery mode so This isn't the end of your phone. Today i'm posting this about how to unbrick your phone, you can even use this method to install stock rom .Keywords : How to Get your Dead phone back to working condition, How to use Smart Phone (SP) Flash tool, How to unbrick mediatek phones.

Note: Do not flash firmware which are not meant for your device , or else your phone will be completely dead . Even SP Flash tool will not detect your phone. So Check carefully the name of zip file.

Steps :

Step 1 : First Download Official “Stock ROM / Firmware” From here.

Step 2 : Download USB Drivers i.e ADB Drivers which works for all Android device.

Link 1 : ADB Drivers 1.4.2.
Link 2 : ADB Drivers 1.4.2.
Link 3 : ADB Drivers 1.4.2.

Step 3 : Install the download file. Don't forget to connect your device by enabling USB Debugging mode (Goto Phone Setting > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging mode.)

Step 4 : Now Power Off your device & remove the battery only if it's removable.

Step 5 : Extract “ '***".zip i.e Stock ROM (** Indicated the file name)

Step 6 : Run Flash_Tool.exe

You will see something like this .

Step 7 : Select DA Please make sure the Download Agent has been assigned.

Step 8 : Select scatter file. Please make sure you select the correct scatter file that you found in the ROM zip.

Step 9 : Select Download Scene Select the expected Download Scene before download.

a. MOTA SIU like (Recommended) :

Function :
Only Boot.img,Recovery.img & Android will be updated, format->Download.

b. Format All + Download :

Function :
Format Whole Flash and download all images.

c. Firmware Upgrade :

Function:
Aim to protect important data from to be lost.

d. Custom :

Function:

Image files to be updated (format -> download) can be customized in this scene, that is, partial download is allowed.

Step 10 : Start Download i.e to Begin the Installing Process by clicking on the Download button at the top.

Step 11 : Now Power On your device if it doesn't gets on Automatically to begin the downloading process.

SPFlashtool Error Code

(1003) S_COM _PORT_OPEN_fAIL

Masalah : Mengindikasikan terjadi masalah pada port komputer yang digunakan
Penyebab : Bisa terjadi karena anda menon-aktifkan com ports pada BIOS (setidaknya dalam kasus ini com-portnya adalah colokan USB baik asli maupun virtual USB), juga bisa terjadi karena masalah kabel USB.
Solusi : Coba gunakan port USB yang lain.

(1011) S_NOT_ENOUGH_STORAGE_SPACE

Masalah : Ruang yang disediakan untuk Firmware tidak mencukupi
Penyebab : Terjadi karena Ukuran dari bagian Firmware yang akan di Flash melebihi dari alokasi ruang yang ada pada partisi
Solusi : Penggantian versi pada Flash Tool mungkin bisa membantu, error ini mungkin juga bisa terjadi pada versi-versi flash tool yang berbeda , Tapi kebanyakan disebabkan oleh ROM yang salah / tidak tepat.

(1013) S_COM_PORT_OPEN_FAIL

Masalah : Hampir sama dengan error 1003
Penyebab : Cek masalah pada error 1003
Solusi : Cek solusi pada error 1003, dan jika tidak menyelesaikan masalah, cobalah mengganti ke Flash Tool v.5.1

(1022) S_UNSUPPORTED_VER_OF_DA

Masalah : Download Agent tidak didukung untuk perangkat anda
Penyebab : Flash tool tidak mendukung download agent
Solusi : Ganti ke Flash Tool v.5.1

(1040) S_UNSUPPORTED_OPERATION

Masalah : Operasi Flashing tidak didukung.
Penyebab : Biasanya terjadi karena masalah file scatter yang salah (Anda tidak bisa menggunakan file scatter MT6577 untuk digunakan pada MT6575)
Solusi : Gunakan file scatter yang tepat untuk melakukan proses Flasing.

(2005) S_BROM_CMD_STARTCMD_FAIL

Masalah : Flash Tool gagal melakukan beberapa operasi tertentu
Penyebab : Kegagalan Flashing Preloader, ReadBack, Format atau Memory Test.
Solusi : Ketika akan mem-flash Preloader pastikan Anda menghubungkan ponsel pada META Mode (pencet dan tahan tombol volume bawah ketika menghubungkan ke komputer), Ketika akan melakukan ReadBack, Format atau Memori Test mungkin diperlukan untuk menghubungkan ponsel dalam mode BOOTROM.

(3001) S_DA_EXT_RAM_ERROR

Masalah : Masalah hubungan koneksi
Penyebab : Kabel USB yang tidak terkoneksi dengan benar
Solusi : Cek Kabel USB, gunakan kabel atau Port USB yang lain.

(3013) S_DS_SOC_CHECK_FAIL

Masalah : Kesalahan pada UBOOT atau Path pada folder yang bernama. contoh : C://Users/Username/Desktop/Firmware Phone/MIUIV10/MIUIV10
Penyebab : Anda mendapat UBOOT yang salah , UBOOT mengatur operasi system loader + mengenali driver
Solusi : Cek Driver ponsel anda agar terinstal secara tepat atau ganti folder tempat anda meletakkan Firmware.

(3036) S_DA_INVALID_RANGE

Masalah : Masalah pada Flash Tool sebelum flashing PMT
Penyebab : Sebelum Flashing PMT Unit, flashtool membandingkan alamat ponsel yang akan di flash dengan scatter file dan menemukan adanya perbedaan, block PMT secara dinamis dibuat oleh program SPflash tool dari file scatter.
Solusi : Untuk menghapus / menimpa PMT block dari scatter file , anda harus menghapus PMT block dari ponsel terlebih dahulu, caranya Format ponsel pada Flash tool dan klik Download maka Spflash tool akan menulis ulang Flash data , PMT block dan data data lainnya.

(3066) S_DA_HANDSET_FAT_INFO_NOT_FOUND

Masalah : Flash Tool tidak dapat mem-format alamat region yang berbeda
Penyebab : Terjadi karena anda menggunakan Format pada mode otomatis
Solusi : Anda harus mengatur region yang ingin anda format secara manual.

(3144) S_DA_EMMC_FLASH _NOT_FOUND

Masalah : Download Agent tidak dapat menemukan EMMC
Penyebab : File Scatter yang salah, contoh : pada nama fie scatter anda adalah emmc , dan ponselnya sebenarnya adalah MTD Flash.
Terputusnya Jalur distribusi data dari port USB menuju EMMC
Solusi : Ganti File Scatter, Hubungi Tukang Service untuk pengecekan jalur data

(4001) S_FT_DA_NO_RESPONSE

Masalah : SP Flash Tool tidak dapa merespon perintah
Penyebab : 1. Tidak ada info pada Download Agent di PC
2. Masalah juga mungkin karena Flash Memori komputer yang sudah rusak
Solusi : Ganti port USB, letakkan SP Flash Tool di Harddrive utama Komputer (C://), Upgrade komputer :P

(4008) S_FT_DOWNLOAD_FAIL

Masalah : Gagal Flashing (download)
Penyebab : Spflash Tool yang tidak cocok, Batere ponsel yang habis , Kabel USB yang bermasalah
Solusi : Ganti versi Flash Tool (versi yang lama biasanya berhasil), charge dulu baterai ponsel kemudian ulangi proses flashing, ganti kabel USB.

(4009) S_FT_READBACK_FAIL

Masalah : Tidak dapat membuka file yang dibutuhkan untuk Flashing
Penyebab : Kemungkinan tidak adanya ruang atau file tidak dapat di tulis ulang karena status file terkunci
Solusi : Cobalah untuk mengosongkan sebagian ruang , pastikan file permission file yang bersangkutan sudah tepat.

(4032) S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAILED

Masalah : Kegagalan Flashing terkait Firmware
Penyebab : Firmware yang digunakan salah atau tidak tepat
Solusi : Anda bisa coba mengganti versi dari Sp Flash Tool (downgrade jika anda menggunakan versi 5)
Cek kembali Rom yang akan anda flash apakah corrupt atau tidak atau coba gunakan veri rom yang berbeda
Format terlebih dahulu kemudian flash (lakukan ini hanya bila yakin Rom yang di gunakan 100% tepat dan tanpa masalah).

(4050) S_FT_NEED_DOWNLOAD_ALL_FAIL

Masalah : Pada Umumnya error ini karena masalah download pada semua block, ukuran PMT yang tidak sesuai
Penyebab : Ukuran block pada PMT yang tidak sesuai dengan file scatter
Solusi : Anda harus menemukan log line pada BROM_DLL, kemudian mengganti pada

Partition 13 (USRDATA) size changed from
0x0000000000000 t0 0x00000000B620000

ganti USRDATA menjadi _NODL_USRDATA (mungkin akan terjadi error 8038 disebabkan perbedaan pada nama).

(5002) S_INVALID_DA_FILE

Masalah : Flashing tidak menggunakan tombol Download
Penyebab : Pada flash tool versi tertentu diharuskan menggunakan tombol download ketika proses flash
Solusi : Gunakan tombol Download atau ganti ke Flash Tool vesi yang lain.

(5054) S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTINGS_FAIL

Masalah : Belum diketahui
Penyebab : Terkadang terjadi setelah Full Format anda tidak bisa menginstal Firmware baru
Solusi : Uninstall semua driver dan instal ulang secara penuh.

(5056) S_DL_PMT_ERR_NO_SPACE

Masalah : Ukuran File melebihi alokasi ukuran partisi
Penyebab : Firmware yang akan di flash bukan merupakan milik posel Anda
Solusi : Pastikan Firmware yang akan di Flash merupakan Firmware yang tepat untuk ponsel anda , alternatifnya gunakan stok rom yang berbeda

(5066) S_DL_PC_BL_INVALID_GFH_FILE_INFOR

Masalah : Flash Tool tidak dapat menemukan file yang diperlukan untuk flashing
Penyebab : File Scatter yang dipilih tidak berada pada satu folder yang dipersiapkan untuk File file flashtool
Solusi : Letakkan file scatter menjadi satu pada folder yang dipersiapkan untuk bahan dan proses flashing.

(6124) S_SECURITY_INVALID_PROJECT,MSP ERROR CODE : 0X00

Masalah : Belum diketahui
Penyebab : -
Solusi : Pilih dan ikuti Options > DA Download All > Speed > Full Speed (Solusi ini juga bisa berlaku untuk error 1013)

(8038) SP FLASH TOOL ERROR

Masalah : Adanya perbedaan pada alamat pada scatter file yang berbeda dengan isi dari block PMT
Penyebab : Umumnya disebabkan oleh perbedaan isi dari file scatter ataupun ketika anda mencoba untuk flashing suatu ROM yang memiliki partisi / base yang berbeda
Solusi : Coba gunakan Firmware Upgrade (jangan Download).
Buka File SP_FLASH_TOOL.log dan lihat pada string yang menunjukkan NOT MATCH, kemudian edit isi dari file scatter (proses edit tergantung dibagian mana yang terdapat Not match).

(8045) SP FLASH TOOL ERROR

Masalah : Masalah ini hampir sama kasusnya dengan error 8038 tapi lebih sulit karena merubah file scatter tidak bisa membantu
Penyebab : sama seperti diatas
Solusi : Banyak orang yang pada akhirnya pergi ke Service Center dan mereka bisa memperbaiki dengan bantuan Programer Hardware, hanya sedikit yang bisa mengatasi ini dengan cara menekan tombol Download dengan semua kotak di centang.

(8200) SP FLASH TOOL ERROR

Masalah : Flash Tool tidak dapat melakukan proses flashing
Penyebab : Terjadi karena Anda berusaha untuk melakukan flashing dengan firmware yang berbeda chipset (firmware anda untuk MTK6592 dan anda mencoba flashing ke MTK6582)
Solusi : Gunakan Firmware yang tepat atau mengganti Flash Tool mungkin menyelesaikan masalah.

Sp Tool DRAM Error Finally Fixed

Don't worry that you bricked the phone just take a deep breath and relax a little bit, I am not gonna leave from here without fixing the error!

THE PROBLEM YOU FACED!!
you might be flashing a firmware or a wrong ROM on your device using SP tool and the moment after you formatted the whole device including the bootloader lead to a HARD BRICKED phone in your hands, with no sign of charging LED light or anything. After that when you tried to flash your stock ROM back on the device using SP TOOLS then you get the error written:
"BROM ERROR : S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (4032) "
this critical issue happens when the space in the device storage get wiped(EMMC storage).

see how you gonna fix your phone yourself without going to the service provider in a few simple steps!!!!

1. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A STOCK ORIGINAL ROM OF YOUR DEVICE & PROPER DRIVERS INSTALLED ON YOUR PC.

2. OPEN SP TOOLS.

3. BROWSE THE SCATTER FILES OF YOUR ROM AND CLICK DOWNLOAD.

4. IMMEDIATELY PRESS THE VOLUME DOWN BUTTON THEN AFTER THAT CONNECT YOUR DEVICE TO THE PC WHEN SEARCHING APPEARS ON THE SP TOOL (if not worked then do the same process but this time you press both the POWER AND VOLUME DOWN button)

5. THEN FLASH YOUR STOCK ROM GREEN CIRCLE APPEARS AND YOU ARE DONE WITH IT!!

TIP:
* Use the latest version of the Sp tool to flash your stock Rom! If the green completion circle appears and still the device doesn't boots up then use the Sp tool version number 5.1424 to flash the device.

Note: After lots of fixing I've found out that all the devices have different ways to get flashed properly, for those who didn't fixed their phone by the following above method including the steps mentioned under the comments, please leave the details of your phone either in the comment section or in the support form I will definitely look for the solution Asap. Plus those who are having lenovo, their work is in progress for the fix. Also if you guys are finding trouble reading the comments section on your mobile, then you can change the view from portrait to landscape for better reading (enable auto rotation).

How To Flash Stock / Custom Recovery Using SP Flash Tool

Having problems with flashing recoveries on your device? Android users like you might get some interest on today's article. As most of us, android users, who wants to tweak their phones, we can say that the mostly-used region when applying modifications is the recovery partition. But what if you can't get your recovery installed in your device? That's the question that we will going to find a solution.

Flashing a recovery is easier with the use of apps such as Mobile Uncle Tools, Rashr Recovery Tools, and other utility apps, also, we can perform image flashing through ADB or through terminal emulator but for Mediatek, there is one method which supposed to be the best method of flashing images but somehow quite took for granted, through SP Flash Tool is the method I am talking about. Some apps might not work in an MTK device, but with Mediatek's very own SP Flash Tool, it works like a charm!

Below is the complete guide how to flash a stock or a custom recovery for any Mediatek device, but though from that fact, you must provide the proper image to be flashed to your device or else it will mess it up. We made up all the steps to make it easier for you to do this successfully. All you need is focus and a little brain.

Only follow the steps provided. Applying the procedure means you are fully responsible for the possible outcome of your device. If you are confused, read the steps again, if you hesitate, do enough research.

Preparations:

Download and install the Drivers (click the Install bat file and wait for it to finish the installation so don't close it). Create your own scatter file if you don't have one, it differs from each MTK device. Download and extract SP Flash Tool. Finally the recovery (stock or custom/CWM/TWRP) which is made for your device (make sure it is named as recovery only not cwm_recovery, etc.), don't flash recovery that is not made for your device.

Instructions:

1. Open SP Flash Tools and click Scatter Loading, now select the scatter file of your device.

2. Make sure all boxes are NOT checked, if there's a check, remove it by clicking the check.

3. Now, click RECOVERY from the list. A new window will appear, find the recovery image that you want to flash or install and click Open.

4. It will now look like the image above. The RECOVERY is the ONLY one checked on the list and you can see the location of the recovery image that you are going to flash.

5. TURN OFF your android phone. When it is already off, click the Download button on the SP Flash Tool, then click Yes. After that, connect your switched-OFF phone to your computer using USB Cable.

6. The tool will detect your phone and flash the recovery, if your computer can't detect your phone, re-install the Drivers that I have provided. Wait until a prompt with green circle will appear, that means the flashing is done successfully.

Congrats! You are done flashing the stock/custom recovery for your MTK-based device.

Flashing Firmware with Odin

1. Just download the firmware version you want from the second or third posts and extract the .tar or .tar.md5 file in the archive and save it somewhere

2. Reboot your phone to download mode.

To get download mode shut down the device. After it shuts off completely simultaneously press theDown volume key+ Home button + press the power button .

You should see a warning asking you to press volume up if you want to continue or volume down to cancel, press volume up. You are now in download mode!

3. Start Odin

4. If your ROM is a single .tar.md5 package click on the PDA button and browse to the .tar or .tar.md5 file that you extracted in step 1 and select it. This should like like the image below

If the package has more than one .tar archive then they will be labelled with PDA/Code, Phone/Modem and CSC. Just put them in the corresponding section of Odin like below

5. DO NOT PUT .PIT FILE AND DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT TICK REPARTITION.

Regardless of firmware version it's still the same methodology

6. Connect the USB cable and wait for any required drivers to install and the ID:COM section to turn blue like below

7. Click start to flash. If Odin hangs at setting up connection just unplug the USB cable and re-attach it, Odin should now resume

8. Do not disconnect the cable or turn off the device once the flash has started, it will reboot when it finishes.

If the firmware is from this thread it will not wipe your phone if you flash as recommended UNLESS I state that the firmware is a "WIPE" version.

[i930x][CWM Advanced Edition] PhilZ Touch ROOT

Recovery (.zip) packages instructions
They come in the form of .zip files that can be flashed in cwm recovery

Download philz_touch_xxx.zip file

Put the previously downloaded philz_touch_xxx.zip file on your sd card

Boot into recovery (volume up+home+power)

Select "Install zip" and browser to your downloaded zip file.

Now select the philz_touch_xxx.zip fileyou copied in previous step

You will have PhilZ Touch Recovery flashed

Odin packages instructions
They come in the form of .tar.md5 file

boot into download mode

start odin3 and configure it as in picture below

connect phone in download mode to PC via USB

press start to flash the tar.md5 package

normally, phone should auto-reboot into recovery.
If it reboots into android and your recovery remains stock, repeat above steps and untick "autoreboot" in odin. Once flash is done, keep pressing power button + home + vol up until it reboots (always will go to recovery)

when in recovery, if you choose option "reboot system now" and you get "yes - disable flash recovery", select that option to avoid stock recovery overwriting cwm

Once in recovery, flash the attached Root_SuperSU.x.xx.Only-signed.zip file to root your phone
If you want root + busybox: flash Root_SuperSU.x.xx-Busybox.1.20.2-signed.zip file
